April 2010 - Spring has sprung! Let's go for a beautiful bike ride! What a very long winter it has been -- snow, rain, sleet -- yuck! But now the bad weather is all behind us and it's the sweet smell of spring's blooming flowers, the songs of deliriously happy birds, frisbees, kites, sunbathing, walking, sitting on park benches and wearing t-shirts and shorts! When you jump on board your bike, make sure you are wearing our great bicycle sunglasses -- they are brand new this year. When is the Balloon Festival in Windsor California Wine Country? - Windsor is a small town just north of Santa Rosa and just south of Healdsburg. Head west on Shiloh Road from the resort and you will be in vineyards and surrounded by small wineries in less than 5 minutes. Easy access the Russian River Valley from here. The town has recently built a new "old" downtown. Just follow signs. It is full of cool shops which have residences above them. There are farmer's markets and other events. Powell's Sweet Shoppe with soda bar is a highlight. Overall, it is a fantastic place to base a visit to Sonoma County Wine Country.
