Central Park NYC Spring Bloom Walking Tour - The Park is spectacular any day of any season, but for sheer raw garden color, its the three week span of the last week in April following and including the first two weeks of May that feature the most spring blooms. Have a look at the Dutch Tulips along the Pond at the southeast corner, the Plaza Hotel corner. They are part of the border flowers, a sequence of different types of flowers that border a small graceful grove alongside the Pond. These tulips start to bloom in April and are gone by the end of the first week in May. The Central Park Conservancy's gardeners are quick to chop the tulips down once their leaves begin to brown and fall. Central Park is extremely well maintained!

September 2008 - The USA largest Oktoberfest is in Cincinnati, Ohio. Cincinnati is Munich, Germany's sister city. Oktoberfest-Zinzinnati, which began in 1976 as a block party, now draws over half a million. The festival's signature event, the World's Largest Kazoo Band and Chicken Dance is a sight to behold! August 2008 -A big slice of Wedding Cake given to Moyra Smith by the Royal Chef for Princess Diana and Prince Charles will go to auction on August 27 at the Dominic Winter Book Auctions in Glos, United Kingdom. The 27-year-old slice of wedding cake celebrated the ill fated marriage of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer in 1981. The wedding cake piece is decorated with the couple's Royal Coat of Arms. August 2008 - Sunglasses Ban Begins in USA Bank - New security policies have started in two Mississippi banks. Customers entering the banks are now banned from wearing hats, hoods and sunglasses when entering these banks. This is a policy that has been brewing worldwide over the past few years as more and more banks are robbed by people wearing the targeted combination of both hats and sunglasses. We expect more and more banks to institute the same policies in the months to come. No more cheap sunglasses for them!
