Wine Gifts in New York - Drinking wine has grown in popularity over the past few decades. Whether it is white wine or red wine, the consumption of wine has been on the rise continuously for many years. A phenomena took place in the early 1990's involving a poorly regarded wine variety, Pinot Grigio. According to wine connoisseurs, pinot grigio is made from outcast grapes, the last pressing of low grade grapes. Many wine bars would not even serve the pinot grigio, but then bottles of it began to show up on the shelves of liquor stores in America right next to chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and Chenin Blanc. The general public liked the smooth, easy taste of the pinot gris and switched over from chardonnay to favor pinot grigios. Whereas wine clubs in San Francisco would prefer to offer champagne gift baskets in San Francisco for fundraising, they soon had to consider Wine Gifts that included the formerly lowly Pinot Grigio.
